A snake tail from the waist down as opposed to legs. The tail can come in a wide variety of colors and patterns and lengths.
➤ Kohaku's tail resembles the body of a stinging nettle slug caterpillar. ➤ PROPORTIONS: Compared to the actual caterpillar, Kohaku's overall body length is much longer relative to its width. Her tail is roughly the same width as her hips; with a standing height of a little more than five feet, her total body length is somewhere between fifteen and twenty feet. This gives her some ability to bend and coil... "Wiggle room", if you will, ➤ BRISTLES: The front-most cluster of large bristles is located over Kohaku's lower back and hips. The rest are positioned on her tail relative to the proportions described above. These bristles react to Kohaku's state of mind; when she is at ease, they remain smooth and closed. ➤ Though it does not provide any significant advantage in grip, the underside of her tail secretes a faintly sticky slime.
Scales on any other part of the body.
➤ The remainder of Kohaku's skin possesses the texture of caterpillar flesh. ➤ DORSAL: The orange color and striped pattern of the caterpillar's back continues to the back of Kohaku's neck. ➤ VENTRAL: Kohaku's face, chest, and stomach possess the same lime green color as the bottom of the caterpillar's body. This skin is also somewhat sticky, particularly on the lower half of her body, matching the faintly adhesive substance secreted on the underside of her tail. ➤ ARMS: Kohaku's arms are orange, with pale rings decorating the outer side of her forearms. ➤ EARS: Kohaku's ears are orange and tipped with the same bristled protrusions found on the dorsal side of her body. These bristles are particularly emotive, showing a greater reaction to Kohaku's mood than those found elsewhere.
Claws instead of fingernails.
➤ Kohaku's claws are the same shade of pink that stripes her back.
FACE
Two long, venom-producing fangs that can fold back up against the roof of the mouth when not in use.
➤ Kohaku has three serrated fangs that resemble the jaws of a leech. (1, 2, 3) When not in use, they are largely invisible; one is attached to her palate, while the other two sit on the floor of her mouth on either side of her tongue.
Snake-like eyes with slit pupils.
➤ Her eyes retain their original golden color, while losing their sclera.
Any amount of snake-like facial features, from scales to a forked tongue to a full on snake muzzle.
➤ Kohaku has eye caps in place of eyelids, meaning she does not (and cannot) blink.
A cobra-like hood going from their head to their back.
➤ Rather than a traditional hood, Kohaku's hair has been replaced with the same stiff bristles that can be found elsewhere on her body. These bristles can likewise stand up and unfurl to create a fan-like "hood" around her face. ➤ These bristles have a mottled color, fading dark-red-to-black or orange-to-dark-red.
Hair made out of several smaller snakes that can be controlled with some effort.
A need to feed on humans. The Naga accomplishes this by either injecting their venom into their desired target and feeding on the blood and other dissolved internal organs once the venom has finished its course, or by swallowing their prey whole by unhinging their jaw.
➤ Kohaku feeds by turning her mouth into a leech-like sucker. The flesh of the roof and floor of her mouth folds outward into the space between her lips, exposing her leech "fangs" and forming a sucking tube. The fangs inject venom, and the tube drains the human victim's liquified organs. ➤ Though Kohaku does not swallow prey whole, her jaw is still capable of unhinging, creating a larger sucker. ➤ Like a leech, Kohaku has three jaws, with her bottom jaw having been split in two. Though these bones are not capable of fully separating, this gives the sucker greater flexibility.
The inability to digest solid foods.
Increased speed and the ability to strike a target incredibly fast.
Immunity to poison (including their own venom and the venom of other Nagas).
Heat vision. By concentrating hard enough, the Naga will be able to detect anything giving off heat, even in the dark.
The ability to freeze humans on the spot with extended eye contact and eventually turn them into stone. Only Naga venom can cure a human effected by this condition.
A rattle on the end of their tails that can temporarily mesmerize humans.
➤ The bristles at the end of her tail take the place of a rattle. When rapidly shaken, the bristles rub together, creating an equivalent sound.
Cold-bloodedness, with increased resistance to heat but vulnerability to cold. Cold temperatures will cause them to become sluggish and weak, thus easier to defeat.
The ability to change into a large snake. In this form the character will be able to travel faster, however, they will also be more vulnerable.
➤ okay but imagine a three-foot-long caterpillar coming toward you at incredibly high speeds. fucked up.
